Areas of Specialty :
I'm Julia Folse (she/they), a licensed master social worker (LMSW), creative, outdoor enthusiast, and advocate for historically underserved populations. I prioritize strengths-based,
person-centered services that invite compassion and autonomy as holistic foundations for client well-being. EMDR, DBT, CBT, empowerment, ecological systems theory, feminist theory,
queer theory, the strengths perspective, and more inform my evidence-based approach to individualized client care.
Connection is a source of power, healing, and hope. You deserve safety, joy, peace, and access to your inner knowing. You matter. Your feelings, experiences, and stories deserve to
be held with care. I enjoy working with all populations and age groups, and I have a passion for working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, and/or self-harm; young
adults; older adults (65+); and historically underserved populations (BIPOC and the 2SLGBTQIA+ community). Being seen, heard, and valued for all that you are is the bare minimum
that can be done to honor your humanity. Access to safe, trauma-informed, equitable services—especially in the South is a barrier in many communities. Actively combatting that is a
professional and personal value of mine. I look forward to meeting you in compassion, openness, and trust at Counseling Associates.
