  • Depression

Client Focus:

Dea Applegate has been engaged as a provider of therapy and social work for over a decade. She uses a clinical and empathetic approach to helping her clients reach their mental and emotional health goals.

Certified in trauma informed care, Dea has experience working with persons who have a history of domestic and/or childhood abuse. She also works with persons dealing with life transitions, self-exploration, depression, and anxiety. She primarily uses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help clients identify unhelpful thought/behavior patterns, but also uses aspects of action based and emotional regulation therapy to help clients gain self-acceptance, mindfulness, and other coping skills to successfully navigate their lives.

Dea approaches therapy by building a positive working relationship with her client first: she believes that trust is an important part of therapy and wants her clients to feel safe and heard during their work together. It is important that her clients feel that therapy is their time; using a person-centered method, the client is empowered to take a lead role in their treatment plan and goals.

Dea has a Masters of Social Work and is licensed in Arizona and New Hampshire. She has twelve years' experience working in community behavioral health and has spent the last three years as a clinical therapist.
