Chris Lamontagne, MSW: Started his career as a wilderness/adventure therapist. He has gathered his professional experience across a variety of residential treatment,
assessment, advocacy and support settings and has been serving the emotional, developmental, educational and vocational needs of youth at risk and their families in
a strength-based, experiential and holistic manner for over sixteen years.
Utilizing a CBT and systems approach, the power of mindfulness, healthy relationship (with self, others and the world around us), unconditional positive regard,
wilderness experiences and adventure as some of the means for healthy change, his approach to holistic and sustainable change has been as dynamic and eclectic
as his background and experience. Chris is also trained in Trauma-focused CBT and EMDR (among other treatment modalities and means for change).
He holds a BS in Kinesiology: Outdoor Education (Magna Cum Laude) and a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of New Hampshire. He is
passionate about co-creative and strength-based work with children and families, and believes deeply in the power of a body, mind, spirit approach to their
healing process. In addition to his clinical training, he has an extremely diverse background that has assisted him in his ability to effectively connect with,
support, and serve adolescents and their families. He has extensive experience as an outdoor/experiential educator, facilitator and wilderness adventure
professional (w/ current Wilderness EMT certifications as a SOLO Wilderness First Responder [WFR] Instructor and a level II Maine Whitewater Guide license).
He is also an 18-year veteran of professional theatre in NY and abroad and a fencing instructor.
